J. & J. ESL EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP

Requirements:

·         Enrolled in ESL 45, 55, 101, 102, or 103 class as a credit student in Spring 2015

·         Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 at time of applying

·         Have financial need

·         A one-page typed statement (1.5 space) introducing yourself and expressing your financial need and your career goals

NOTES:  An application that is less than one full page or that is not typed will not be considered.

The content, organization and mechanics of each statement will be taken into consideration

in determining the scholarship winner. 

Also, those who have won the scholarship in previous years should  not apply again.

This application and your statement are to be submitted to the Chairperson of the

ESL Department no later than March 9, 2015.

In addition to the completed application, please ask a Palomar ESL teacher to write a letter of recommendation for you. This recommendation must be submitted separately by the teacher to the Chairperson of the ESL Dept. by the same deadline as specified above.

Funds of the J. & J. ESL Educational Scholarship are to be used for tuition & fees, textbooks, and/or school supplies. For IRS purposes, the scholarship recipient will need to provide a social security number or individual taxpayer identification number to collect funds.
